Oh what beautiful sunflowers! It was all very well for me to go 'doucement' as I wasn't trying to reach a gite before such high temperatures kicked in! Apart from just a few hot days in France, it never got hot for me until I was nearly across the Meseta. Apparently nobody much walks in July/August in the south of France because of the heat. I found that last photo with all the bare fields fascinating. I am sure I have a photo in nearly the same place with the crops just recently planted: how quickly the season progresses once the heat arrives in the south!
